What are the simple tips for choosing LED lights

2022-09-20

So, the question is, ordinary people don't know much about this "high-tech" illuminator, so how do we choose it? After collecting and summarizing, we believe that the following eight strategies are worthy of reference.

     1. Look at the light quality and anti-glare effect. This is also the difference between various lamps of different quality. It has to be said that the quality of the light is the foundation of a lamp, and whether the spot produced is beautiful or not is what affects the lighting effect the most. And the pros and cons of anti-glare performance is also an item that we must examine when choosing lights, otherwise a light with strong glare will really make you crash.

     2. Look at the light effect. Let’s first learn about light efficiency: the light energy (commonly known as luminous flux) generated by the light source per W of electrical power, in lumens/watt (Lm/w). This can be seen from the instruction manual and outer packaging of LED lamps. It says that under the same lamp bead power, the higher the light efficiency, the higher the brightness; the same lighting brightness, the lower the power consumption.

     3. Look at the color temperature. What is color temperature (the professional terms such as color temperature and illuminance have been introduced in other articles of the author). Whether the color temperature distribution is uniform will directly affect the lighting effect; and the color temperature and color rendering are interrelated, and the change of color temperature will cause the change of the color rendering index (in popular understanding, the color rendering index refers to the ability of light to restore the true color of things ,The higher the better).

     4. Look at the power efficiency. Many people ignore this point, in fact, the higher the power efficiency, the better. High power efficiency means that the smaller the power consumption of the power supply itself, the greater the output power.

     5. The power factor of LED lamps. Low power factor means that the driving power supply and circuit design used are not good, which will greatly reduce the service life of the lamps.

     6. The heat dissipation performance of LED lamps. The lower the thermal resistance, the better the heat dissipation. If the thermal resistance is high, the heat dissipation will be poor, so that the temperature of the device will increase, which will affect the wavelength shift of light. When the temperature rises by one degree, the wavelength of light will drift by 0.2-0.3nm, which will directly affect the quality of the light. Excessive temperature rise also directly affects the service life of high-power LED downlights.

     7. Look at the material and structure of the heat dissipation components of the LED lamps. Especially for high-power LED lamps, heat dissipation is very important. Some low-quality LED lamps have no heat dissipation settings at all. Two LED lamps with the same wattage, the same luminous efficiency, and the same quality lamp beads, the one with poor heat dissipation will usually have more obvious light decay, and then the service life will be much shorter.

     8. Look at workmanship. Just like when we buy shoes, we look at the insoles and laces, and when we buy clothes, we look at the pockets. Good workmanship is generally not that bad. The same is true for LED lamps, LED lamps with fine workmanship, I believe the quality will not be too bad.
