Fans are preparing for the World Cup, making sure they have everything they need when the first edition kicks off on November 20. All ticket holders will need to apply for Hayya, not only for access to World Cup venues, but also to enter countries.

Here's everything you need to know about the Hayya Card:

What is Hayya?

The Hayya Card is a fan ID that grants ticket holders entry to Qatar and the stadium, as well as free use of metro and bus transport on matchdays.

Who needs a Hayya card?

All tourists entering Qatar who plan to attend a game must apply for a Hayya card. Hayya cards are also compulsory for children, and those under 18 must have a parent or guardian apply on their behalf.

Do you need a visa if you have a Hayya card?

International visitors to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup will not need a visa to enter the country as long as they have a valid Hayya card. Hayya card holders can stay in Qatar until 23 January 2023.

How to apply for Haya Card?

Hayya Cards can be applied for online through the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 website or the Hayya to Qatar 22 mobile app. You will need to follow the step-by-step instructions in the application form and submit your application for approval upon completion.

What documents are required for a Hayya card?

To apply for a Hayya card, fans need to register a Hayya account and log in. During the registration process, fans will be asked to provide a match ticket application number along with their personal details, passport details and home address.

International visitors will also be required to provide accommodation details and share emergency contact information. A passport-style photo in digital format is also required to complete the application.

How long does it take for Hayya card approval?

International tourists who apply for a Hayya card need to wait about five days for approval, while domestic tourists can receive it within three days. After creating an account and submitting the required documents, you can also track the status of your application.

Will the Hayya card allow you to visit other GCC countries?

Fans traveling to Qatar for the World Cup can enjoy additional perks by using their Hayya Card as a multiple-entry visa for the following GCC countries:

Saudi Arabia is allowing Hayya cardholders to use their card as a multiple-entry visa for up to 60 days, allowing entry into the country 10 days before the start of the World Cup.

The United Arab Emirates also announced that Hayya card holders can use their card as a multiple-entry visa to visit the country for 90 days.

Similarly, Oman also offers tourists a 60-day Hayya card to enter the country.
